The Photographers

Brent Wesley is a professional photographer based in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. Raised in Thunder Bay, he obtained his journalism diploma in 2007 and moved to Sioux Lookout to work at Wawatay News. While at Wawatay he received honourable mention for best editorial at the 2008 Ontario Community Newspaper Awards and won second place for best feature photo at the 2012 Canadian Community Newspaper Awards. Brent is also communications officer for the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority. He and his wife, Kanina, have one son.

Adrienne Fox is a freelance photographer and journalist. Since graduating from the photojournalism program at Loyalist College in 2000, she has worked in various roles at Wawatay Native Communications Society, including senior news writer, editor and media director. She has also worked for CBC-Radio in Thunder Bay. Despite her changing roles, Adrienne has always been committed to photographing Indigenous peoples and culture. Adrienne lives and works in Sioux Lookout, Ont. She has four children: Joy, Brandon, Logan and her most recent addition Tehya.
